What we Offer

In addition to ensuring that we are preserving land affordability, we actively work to give back to the community and those involved in our organization by providing necessary programming and resources.

Homebuyer's Club

With foreclosures still occurring and predatory loans still being offered, it is important to provide affordable homeownership opportunities while also educating the community about finances and how the homebuying process should work. Therefore, the ECLT hosts a financial empowerment series called the Financial Freedom Homebuyer's Club (FFHC). FFHC focuses on homeownership education, financial education, savings, budgeting, credit repair, and more. The club teaches principles about financial growth that wealthy people know. Quaterly power-packed speakers and teachers gather to educate the community on how to be a successful homeowner, the value of a dollar, and ways to get out of debt and grow their money.

Supporting Homeowners

ECLT prides itself on ensuring our prospective and current homeowners financially prosper. This function is called pre and post- purchase stewardship. We keep a line of communication open with our homeowners by establishing a relationship from the moment they show interest. By providing post-purchase stewardship, the ECLT works with homeowners to assure that their houses are well maintained, all taxes and insurances are paid, all code and zoning regulations are followed, and the home remains owner-occupied -- all of which helps to increase the quality of life for the entire community. We act as a backstop to foreclosure and other financial troubles.

If at any point an individual needs assistance or has questions, our team is one phone call away.

P.O.W.E.R

P.OW.E.R is an acronym for Promoting land rights, Offering affordable housing, Working to prevent displacement, Educating the population, and Reinforcing community empowerment.

ECLT is dedicated to empowering communities by addressing their needs through sustainable land preservation. We provide educational initiatives and promote land rights by organizing and raising awareness about the land trust philosophy as a tool not only for homeownership but also for preserving the use and function of the land. Our ultimate goal is to maintain affordability, prevent displacement, and advocate for the community’s intentions and desires.

With the cost of living rising, and the wages of many working families remaining stagnant, it is important to create and preserve permanent affordable housing opportunities; this is what the ECLT’s Opportunity We Need (O.W.N) program is all about. In suburban areas, the ECLT’s O.W.N program creates homeownership opportunities that make it possible for low- to moderate-income (LMI) families to live in communities they may work in. In urban areas, the ECLT’s O.W.N program locks in the affordability of homes for longtime residents to remain even after the community has been redeveloped and housing prices have increased. The ECLT’s O.W.N program serves clients whose income ranges between 50-120% of the Area Median Income.
